Wireless setup requirement:
In order to have wireless internet connection, you need the following hardware
besides the PC.
1. Wireless adaptor and its software driver.
You may use either Internal or external unit.
2. One Antenna, either one of those shown in
the following pictures.
3. Antenna cable that is needed to connect
between antenna and wireless adaptor. We recommend to keep
the total length of the
cable as short as possible to keep the loss of signal strength to minimal, or
you have
to use higher
graded low loss cable.
4. Jumper cable. It is recommended to use a
flexible jumper cable between wireless adaptor and antenna
cable to avoid applying
pressure on the connector at the back of the adaptor card..
5. Lightning arrestor.
6. On-site installation of
antenna.
***Remarks: As there are different makes or technology platform for the wireless equipment, we do not guarantee the full compatibility if the equipment is not purchased from wirelesstown.com.

PC Requirements
Macintosh Requirements
Antenna:
Depends on the distance between the receiver and network cell site, different antenna is
required in order to obtain proper strength of signal for reliable network connection. We
recommend to use the following parabolic grid antenna which has 13 dbi to 24i db gain.
Higher gain antenna is recommended if the distance is larger between the transmitter site
and the receiving site, or there are some obstruction (like trees) in between. Ideal
condition would be 100% line of sight without any obstruction in the path between receiver
and transmitter.
Jumper cable:
This is needed between the wireless adaptor and the antenna cable. It is more
flexible and provides enough strain relief to avoid the damage to the connectors.
Lightning arrestor:
This is a MUST item, to protect your equipment from
static discharge.
Antenna Cable:
As the operating frequency is at 2.4Ghz, you have to use the low loss cable or else your
transmitter would not perform properly. Click here for more
details.
